A few days ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the "Industrial Transfer Guidance Catalog (2012)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Transfer Catalog"), focusing on promoting the adjustment and optimization of the layout of existing production capacity, mainly for 15 traditional industries including the textile brand industry. The transfer direction and key points proposed by the "Transfer Catalog" for the textile industry are: the northeast region will give full play to the advantages of chemical fiber and other raw materials, and moderately develop textiles for downstream industries; the eastern region will actively develop the modern textile industry, focusing on upgrading the grade and building the brand, building an international textile and clothing design and manufacturing center, and forming a number of modern textile industry clusters and headquarters bases; the central region will accelerate the development of cotton spinning, knitting, hemp, appropriately develop the chemical fiber industry and industrial textiles, actively cultivate clothing and home textile brands, and improve the modern textile manufacturing system; the western region uses natural resources such as cotton, wool, hemp, and silk to actively undertake the transfer of the textile industry and gradually support the chemical fiber industry.
