Moody's downgrades the credit ratings of euro zone countries such as Italy, Portugal and Spain.

Moody's also downgraded the outlook for France, the UK and Austria to negative, maintaining a 3A rating for the time being.
Moody's said in a statement that the rating adjustment reflects the "increasing financial and macroeconomic risks arising from the euro zone crisis" faced by countries, and "these risks exacerbate the unique challenges faced by the affected countries".
Moody's kept Germany's 3A rating unchanged.
